Karl-Heinz Rummenigge y el entrenador Jupp Heynckes se reunieron en el día de hoy, miércoles, 16 enero de 2013. Jupp Heynckes había indicado a la directiva del FC Bayern München AG antes de las pasadas Navidades su intención de no renovar el contrato que le vinculaba con el FC Bayern hasta el 30.6.2013 porque tenía planteado acabar su carrera profesional en los banquillos. Hoy comunicó oficialmente a la directiva esa decisión.

“Como club, pero también como amigos, tenemos que mostrar nuestro entendimiento a Jupp Heynckes”, aclaró Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, “tenemos que aceptar y respetar su decisión. En una charla muy personal con Jupp Heynckes, nos hemos asegurado todos que pondremos todo de nuestra parte, tanto el FC Bayern como Jupp Heynckes para completar una exitosa segunda vuelta 20012/13 para traernos el título de liga a Múnich.”

El FC Bayern ha fichado a uno de los técnicos de mayor éxito del fútbol mundial para suceder a Jupp Heynckes: Pep Guardiola (41). El ex entrenador del FC Barcelona y el FC Bayern han llegado a un acuerdo para trabajar juntos a partir de la próxima temporada 2013/14. Guardiola ha firmado por el club muniqués por tres años, hasta el 30 de junio de 2016.

“Nos alegra mucho que hayamos logrado ganar para el FC Bayern a Pep Guardiola, quien había sido solicitado y contactado por muchos clubes de renombre”, reconoció Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “Pep Guardiola es uno de los entrenadores con mayor éxito del mundo y estamos seguros de que no sólo dará brillo al FC Bayern, sino también al fútbol alemán. Nos alegramos ya por nuestra colaboración a partir de julio de 2013.”

Uli Hoeneß, presidente del FC Bayern de Múnich ha comentado al respecto: “Tras la decisión Jupp Heynckes, al que estamos extremadamente agradecidos por su trabajo, estaremos muy contentos si el equipo pudede regalar a este gran entrenador una merecida y brillante despedida. Como sucesor adecuado de Jupp Heynckes sólo podíamos optar por un entrenador del calibre de Pep Guardiola.”

La intención de Guardiola es la de mejorar el inglés en un marco que le permita pasar desapercibido, al ser difícilmente reconocible en esta enorme ciudad. Pero al margen de lo académico, Guardiola sigue siendo un loco del fútbol y sigue la actualidad del Barcelona, como aficionado, y del resto de equipos del viejo continente.

Además, el hecho de que el fútbol no sea un deporte de masas en Estados Unidos, le ha permitido a Guardiola profundizar en otros deportes locales como béisbol o fútbol americano con el objetivo de conocer técnicas de entrenamiento y aspectos tácticos que importar al fútbol en sus futuras experiencias como entrenador.

Jose Mourinho telefoneó al técnico del Manchester United, que no se presentó al Foro de Entrenadores de Elite organizado por la UEFA después de no perderse una sola cita. Ferguson le hizo saber a Mou que estaba en Nueva York, lo que poco a poco fue generando bastante controversia. Mourinho transmitió el paradero de su colega a algunos de los asistentes, que empezaron a especular con una posible reunión del mandatario ‘red devil’ y Pep Guardiola.

Pep también estaba invitado a la cita, pero se excusó alegando que se encontraba en Nueva York, donde reside desde que abandonó el banquillo del Barcelona. El simple hecho de que Ferguson y Guardiola estuviesen en la misma ciudad cuando ambos estaban invitados a un evento en la otra parte del mundo fue suficiente para que empezaran los rumores, según ‘Mundo Deportivo’.
